Setting up your teacher account
A walkthrough from having no account to being ready to publish. It takes a few minutes once your invitation arrives.
1. Request access
Go to concordiatracker.com/teacher/request and fill in your name, your Concordia email, and what you teach. Use your university address: it is how we confirm you are faculty.
You will get a case number back, something like REQ-1043. Keep it: the same page has a Check a request tab where you can enter it to see where your request stands.
2. Accept your invitation
Once approved you receive an invitation link. It is single-use, tied to your email, and expires, so open it on a device you can finish setting up on.
The link shows the course it was issued for and asks you to confirm your email. Accepting creates your account and signs you in.
A new account starts as pending. You can build an outline straight away, but publishing and posting stay disabled until an administrator approves you. This is a one-time check.
3. Find your way around
The teacher portal has its own layout: a sidebar of your courses, each expanding to its own sections. It is deliberately plainer than the student app; it is a publishing tool, not a dashboard.
4. Link your courses
Your first course is usually attached to your invitation. To add more, use Link a course, search the catalog by code, and pick your section from the chips shown. If a course is not listed, you can create it.
Sections matter: students see the outline for their section, so link the specific ones you teach rather than the course as a whole.
5. Fill in the course details
Set the instructor name, TA, meeting times, office hours, location, credits, and a syllabus link. Students see all of it on the course page, and Preview as student shows you exactly what they see.
Credits are worth getting right: they weight the course in every student’s GPA.
