Planning your term

Connect Moodle

Concordia hands you deadlines in three places and joins none of them. ConcordiaTracker already holds your syllabus dates and the registrar calendar; Moodle holds what your professor actually posted — the assignment that moved, the quiz added in week six. Connecting it is the missing third.

What you need

One link from Moodle. Not your password — we never ask for one, and Concordia signs you in through its own system anyway.

  1. Open Moodle → Calendar → Export and sign in if it asks.
  2. Choose All events and Recent and next 60 days. Pick Custom range instead if you want the whole term.
  3. Press Get calendar URL — *not* the Export button, which downloads a file to your computer instead.
  4. A long link appears underneath. Copy the whole thing.

Where to paste it

In ConcordiaTracker, open Settings → Moodle (the gear beside your name, or your avatar menu → Settings). Paste the link and press Connect Moodle.

It checks the link straight away and tells you how many deadlines it found. If nothing comes back, the most common reason is that Export was pressed instead of Get calendar URL.

What happens next

When a professor moves a date

This is the part that pays for the setup. Nothing is ever changed behind your back:

The second one is a match made by name, so the card shows which Moodle event it matched. If it looks wrong, choose Keep mine: nothing changes.

ReadsYour Moodle calendar: event names, dates, and the course each belongs to.
Cannot readYour grades, your submissions, your messages, or anything else in Moodle.
Cannot changeAnything at all. The link is read-only.
Is notYour password. It is a calendar key Moodle generates for you.

It is still a private key: anyone holding it could read your calendar. So it is stored where our own app cannot read it back — only the nightly sync can use it — and it is never shown again after you paste it.
